AUTO CALIBRATION

ADVANCED DRIVER-ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS

CALIBRATION IS TRIGGERED BY
THE REPAIR—NOT THE LIGHT.

A vehicle may require camera, radar, or sensor calibration even when no warning light is present. Summit identifies the requirement, performs the correct setup, and documents the result.

THE DIRECT ANSWER

CALIBRATION RESTORES THE SENSOR’S UNDERSTANDING OF WHERE THE VEHICLE IS POINTED.

Collision repair, glass replacement, alignment, ride-height changes, bumper work, or removal of a camera or radar unit can change the relationship between the sensor and the vehicle. The manufacturer procedure—not the presence of a fault code—determines what is required.

WHAT SUMMIT HANDLES

KNOW THE EVENTS THAT CAN CREATE A REQUIREMENT.

COLLISION REPAIR

Structural, body, mounting, or related repairs can affect sensor aim and vehicle geometry.

RIDE-HEIGHT CHANGE

Suspension work, tire changes, loading or ride-height differences can affect the sensor's relationship to the vehicle.

WINDSHIELD REPLACEMENT

Forward cameras commonly require calibration after removal or replacement of the glass.

CAMERA OR RADAR REMOVAL

Disconnection, replacement, or movement can create a setup or calibration requirement.

WHEEL ALIGNMENT

Changes to thrust angle or steering geometry can trigger a calibration procedure.

BUMPER OR SENSOR WORK

Repair near radar, sonar, cameras, brackets, or covers may require additional procedures.
